Aristeo managed the construction and acted as an integral self perform contractor on numerous expansion projects at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama (TMMAL) across the last decade.
Outstanding Business Partner of the Year
One of Aristeo’s early projects at the TMMAL facility was managing a 300,000 square foot building expansion for new V6 engine machining and assembly equipment. In 2018, the team also managed a project to support Toyota’s 2.5L Engine Capacity Increase. More recently, Aristeo oversaw the 114,000 square foot building addition for a new hybrid engine line with overall capacity upgrades.
In 2012, Aristeo managed the construction of a new 300,000 square foot building, which included slab on grade, a new cafeteria and server space, siding, roofing, restrooms, architectural finishes, waste water treatment expansion and new substation equipment installation. Aristeo also coordinated with active production to install new power distribution in the existing manufacturing space, mechanical systems, building electrical systems, fire suppression and life safety systems, management systems and new truck access road construction from the local state thoroughfare. Aristeo also modified truck docks, the plant ring road, trailer parking, guard shacks, turnstiles and the truck scale. The team also relocated the GMI building and underground site utilities.
For the 2018 2.5L Engine Capacity Increase project, Aristeo filled in existing pits and placed slab on grade where the new lines would be installed. We also installed one new truck dock position and completed the exterior pavement upgrades associated with the new truck dock. Finally, the team expanded the employee parking lot.
For the recent 2022 152E Expansion project, a 114,000 square foot addition, Aristeo demolished nearly 100,000 square feet of slab and re-poured it and completed a new trailer parking lot across 15,000 manhours.
Aristeo also fabricated steel for a 114,048 square foot 30 bay joist and deck expansion, which consisted of 245 tons of structural steel and 10 tons of miscellaneous steel.
Major components of the project included road construction, concrete slab on grade, metal panel wall system, thermoplastic (PVX) single-ply membrane roofing, masonry, loading dock equipment, overhead and underground utilities, fire protection, HVAC systems, substations and electrical power distribution and process related utilities.
To accommodate existing plant production requirements, preliminary project work was split into two distinct phases for the 300,000 square foot expansion. Phase 1 involved preparing the plant infrastructure for new construction. Modifications were made to truck docks, the plant ring road, trailer parking, guard shacks, turn styles, the truck scale and the GMI building was relocated. This preliminary work permitted the start of phase 2, including relocation of underground site utilities, earthwork and building foundation construction.
