Aristeo’s award-winning safety program prioritizes safety over every other phase of operations to achieve our ultimate goal of zero incidents.
Safety starts long before anyone steps onto a project site. We actively work to build in safety measures and eliminate risks while a job is still in the design phase – by honing our best practices, encompassing the collective knowledge of all project partners, and examining the risk factors on a site by site basis. We also have a unique differentiator with our 500+ in-house self perform workforce: the critical expertise of our skilled trades team members who actually perform the work.
We encourage all of our team members to Be a Safety Leader, and ensure they are certified through OSHA, and trained via our in-house safety program and the MUST (Management and Unions Serving Together) Safety Program. We have also taken the industry-leading step to implement an additional level of safety certification for our team – the Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC) certification, governed by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. This certification ensures that our eligible jobsite leadership are fully prepared and empowered to advocate for safety and proactively plan for a safe project. These efforts, and many more, have differentiated Aristeo as a safety leader within the industry as well. As a safety leader, we are proud to have been called upon to speak as an expert on a variety of safety topics at multiple customer events.
At Aristeo, safety is not simply a process to follow – it is embedded into our culture and championed by all of our employees. Our Everyone Goes Home safety culture rewards positive and proactive safety behavior through our Good Catch Program, and encourages all of our employees to Be a Safety Leader. We empower every employee, subcontractor, and customer on the job, regardless of level, with Stop Work Authority – allowing them to halt work whenever they see unsafe conditions. We also host an annual Safety Kickoff event every January, where we bring all of our employees in for a day of celebrating safety successes, reviewing lessons learned, and recommitting to safety for the upcoming year.
We recognize that safety is an ever evolving journey, one that requires constant learning through continual process improvements. We proactively rework tasks, process flows, implement proprietary processes like our Safe Work Bucket, and prioritize critical safety data tracking and analysis across jobsites. We also created an in-house Safety Committee, which travels across job sites to champion safety for all of our field employees. The committee provides consistent planning, continuous training, and encourages the proper safety attitude for every employee.
