General Motors Bedford Powertrain - Steel Fabrication & Erection - Aristeo Construction - IMG_3590(1)

As part of Aristeo's design build construction, Aristeo's steel division was asked to provide the fabrication and installation of 168 tons of die cast support steel, 322 tons of pit cover steel, 85 tons of truck dock and substation building steel and 50 tons of miscellaneous iron. The die cast steel was fabricated into (8) 6 FT by 65 FT frames in the shop. Each framed, weighing about 42,000 tons, was then shipped to the site and installed.

The die cast steel had to be set to very tight tolerances (within 1/8") over 65 FT. our work area was in an existing narrow pit that was 13FT deep. The existing facility structural steel was abated for lead point prior to connections of the steel members. The work was completed safely on schedule.

Aristeo worked on site for over a year in good and nasty weather and through it all the company and all employees maintained a positive and professional attitude. Everybody I spoke with stated they would be very happy to see Aristeo return at any time for another project. Greater Gratiot Development, Inc.
