Grosse Pointe Yacht Club Pool and Deck Area Replacement

After 30 years of service and countless repairs to hold it together, Grosse Pointe Yacht Club’s swimming pool has been replaced. The aged pool and deck jet out on a peninsula into Lake St. Clair. This historic clubhouse was built on a man-made jetty and harbor. Today, the club extends almost the full width of the island allowing only foot and small cart traffic. That’s where Aristeo came in; our expertise with restricted access areas is unrivaled. Aristeo removed the existing 6-lane pool and surrounding deck, as well as the older pool hidden underneath. Following this difficult demolition and removal, we began construction of a new 8-lane pool, training pool, multilevel deck and eating area, and storage and mechanical rooms below the deck area. Aristeo compared access routes to the site; there was almost no access to the lake side of the club where the pool is located. In addition, overcoming lake conditions during winter months posed a unique challenge to our construction team. Pre-construction and continual planning were paramount to the project’s success.
