Bosch Proving Grounds Test Track

This project included removing and replacing/expanding the existing basalt tile and ceramic tile test surfaces at Bosch Proving Grounds in Flat Rock, Michigan. Working directly with the construction manager, Nippo USA Inc., we stripped all existing surfaces, installed new drainage, and installed new ceramic dry process tiles over the existing base.

We removed the existing ceramic test surface which was 11,500 FT2 with a 350’ long straightaway and a 35,000 FT2 asphalt apron and approach. The work consisted of milling the existing base to varying levels to accommodate new mortar beds, as well as installing new tile with tight tolerances. We also milled perimeter asphalt areas to accommodate new elevations and eliminate existing variances.
